Yannis Ritsos Literary Prize for Greek Canadian Youth
giving recognition to new voices
Libros Libertad invites submissions of poetry and short fiction in English and/or Greek from Canadian youth of Greek origin. In addition to the cash prizes listed below, a selection will be made to choose 15-20 submissions for an anthology of Greek Canadian writings scheduled to be published in 2013. The proposed anthology will present Greek Canadian writers of all genres and ages with a view to acknowledge and appreciate the work of both established authors and new/novice/young writers.

- 1st Prize: $500

Short Fiction
- 1st Prize: $500

Eligibility
- Be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, a full time student or an employee in Canada at the time of making the submission
- Be between 14 to 35 years of age in 2011
- Be of Greek origin/ancestry
Submission Guidelines
Poetry
- 12 pt, Times New Roman, single-spaced
- 3-7 poems, maximum 30 lines each
- Hard copy: each page one side only - 8.5 x 11 paper, 1.5" margin
Short Fiction
- 12 pt, Times New Roman, double-spaced, no indents, no formatting
- 1-3 short stories, maximum 1500 words each
- Hard copy: each page one side only - 8.5 x 11 paper, 1.5" margin
